It has made a tremendous difference in how we can now manage our business and not have the business manage us. Before starting with SuccessWareŽ21 we ran a custom accounting package and a custom scheduling package side by side. Our previous software restricted us from knowing our company as well as we wanted. We were looking for ways to make it work for us when we were introduced to SuccessWareŽ21. Since seeing a demonstration with (my boss) Tim Boulden, I was hooked. We implemented the software in October 2000 on a limited basis in the plumbing department only, trying to see all aspects of the software before company wide use. That's what you can do, whether it's furnaces, water heaters, it doesn't matter. If they're your customer and you market to them and they like your service and they used you before, chances are they are going to call you again if they're in need of something there. And SuccessWareŽ21gives you the ability to pinpoint these things, because you're not going to go through your files and make a list on a note pad and enter them all into the computer. You're not going to do that. You're already going to have the information. My favorite thing about this software is when your tech goes on a call and write down the age of the equipment on the invoice. In SuccessWareŽ21, the equipment also gets aged. And guess what next year when that equipment has a birthday? The software automatically ages the equipment for you. You don't have to go in and say, 'Well the equipment was 11 years last year or 5 years ago so how old is it now.' It automatically does it for you. The money you invest in SuccessWareŽ21is going to come back to you ten-fold in numerous ways, like the marketing ability you get. There are so many reports you can get! Virtually any information you want - what type of call came in yesterday, is this advertising paying off that we're doing in the yellow pages, is this ad on the radio paying off for us, etc. I get a phone call report every morning that tells me where our calls came from yesterday. I know if I'm running an ad in the newspaper and it's not paying off, I know to pull it and save myself some money right there. And that way, I can do something else. Or I know to pull an ad if I'm getting swamped with calls. And that's always a good problem to have! We went 'live' with SuccessWareŽ21on August 1, 2001. At that point, I had 3 full-time office staff plus an outside accountant. I thought SuccessWareŽ21would make their jobs easier, but I never could have imagined how much extra time they would have on their hands. Simple things like putting invoices in the system...were now being done in half the time it used to take. So my office staff had all this free time and I wasn't about to pay them to sit around and do nothing.
